I've been working away on a job there for the last few days and part of the concept is to use social media/networking icons within the design. I needed to have a consistent style for them and they also needed to be in vector format so I could use them ...

Yesterday's Specials

Someone asked me the other day "What was it like working in Coventry?", naturally, my response was "generally shit", but then I remembered... oh wow... I got to work with The Specials! Thanks to some rather excellent blagging by my cohort, Chris Dalton, we managed to bag a rather lucrative job ...

Client Nurture Childcare
Year 2004

nurture_cmyk_logo-2004This start up business wanted to portray a confident and successful look as they were offering premium quality childcare services and did not want a child-like approach, they wanted it to appeal more to the parents than the children themselves. At the same time, it needed to be bright, vibrant and friendly.

The client remarked only recently that their identity looks as fresh now as it did five years ago and they are still very happy with it :))

Client La Crème Recruitment
Year 2000

lacremelogo-2001The brief here was to create an identity that was strong, sassy, confident, appealing to young female professionals without being overly “girly”. My graphic solution was this:

Client Gulliver Ireland
Year 2005

GULLIVER-IDGulliver, based in Killorglin, Co. Kerry, were one of the forerunners of online accommodation booking systems in Ireland, they were already well established when a rebrand was required for their online business. I created a digital Gulliver character dashing off on holiday. The character was clearly made from pixels to emphasise the online nature of business. I also developed the tagline to cleverly link with Jonathan Swift, the author of Gulliver’s Travels.

The Gulliver character idea would have developed to see him animated and used in various different scenarios. Unfortunately a change in personnel at the company lead to the project not getting the full go ahead.

Client Fastnet Rally
Year 2007

FASTNET-OPTION1This local rally needed rebranding and bringing into the 21st century as the previous “logo” had little scope to be used as a sales tool. My new identity brought vitality to the project and has been branded on a range of rally related items to generate income from fans and visitors to the yearly event.

Client National University of Ireland: ERI-Ecosite
Year 2001

ECOSITE-COMPThis new university research project was launched to study the environment and seek out ways to protect it. My design concept reflected both the micro-analysis of the research and the ebb and flow of nature, its waveforms and continual change and evolvement. The identity was intended to change and evolve itself with each different application from stationery to signage and website, etc.
